I'm looking for the dell system recovery cd but I don't know if I have it, probably not. I have one that says for reinstalling dell tools system software, one says reinstalling sonic recordnow, one says dell dimension resource cd, one says reinstallation cd for xp, and one says reinstalling data/ fax modem. Any of these the system recovery? Sorry I know nothing about computers.|||Reinstall for xp is the one to start with. You will also need to install the rest of them starting with the driver disc after xp is loaded.|||The "reinstallation cd" is for putting the factory-installed software on the computer, and if you use that one, it will erase Everything that is currently on the computer.
You did not provide the make and model of the Dell computer, but you can look it up on Dell's website. There is usually also a "Service Tag" number on the computer that is a serial number and, if you enter that number, allows Dell to track any service or information requests you make, as well as direct you to the correct software updates and drivers for the computer.
Some Dell computers have the "system recovery" software already installed on the computer, that is why I suggested you go to the Dell website.

The links here will provide you with the method you want to use for a full factory-software install.|||If you don't have experience with it, I would suggest have someone else work on your computer, Windows can be mis-configured when installing that can lead to many headaches later on.
If you do want to re-install Windows, you will you the reinstallion cd for XP. Keep in mind that this will erase you entire hard drive if you re-install Windows, and you will lose any data you have not backed up.|||The disk looks like a blue and white CD. It has a blue top and bottom and a white middle. It has the words," Dell Recovery CD". Hope you find it. Also, it might come in a Dell computer and will guide you in case you un-installed it.

Nolan K|||Use them all. XP first then all of the others one at a time until you have completed all of it. You may be able to install XP and then go to Dell with your Express Code and Down load it all on line. With that code, they can do it for you.|||they all are recovery cd's
