What can i do to upgrade a Dell - Studio Laptop with Intel庐 Core鈩? Duo Processor T6400 ?

Hey guys, I just got myself a Dell - Studio Laptop with Intel庐 Core鈩? Duo Processor T6400. What can i do to upgrade it OR how how do i even know what can be upgraded? Anyone knows anything or any tips? Thanks in advance!|||You can upgrade your RAM, HardDrive, Optical Drive, and Processor. Check out your Dell Studio Service Manual for details on how to dismantle and install new parts. Be sure that the new parts you buy are compatible. You should have been given a User Manual which includes the Service Manual. If not. go to http://www.dell.com and search "your laptop model service manual."

However, you may void your warranty by taking the laptop apart. I wouldn't advise upgrading the laptop until your warranty is up. Furthermore, it might be more cost effective just to buy a new laptop. Some of the components (mainly the processor) are very expensive to replace.|||The ram and the hard drive are usually the only things you can upgrade on a laptop. If you are into upgrading computers you should build a desktop pc.|||it could be upgraded, but 1, it will more than likely void your warranty... and 2, you're going to be putting quite a bit of money into something that wont massively improve performance.

if you did want to go through with it, find out what socket's on the motherboard through the user manual, find an apropriate better spec processor on scan.co.uk, or ebuyer, etc...

you'll need to unscrew the back off the laptop,

remove the cpu fan,

turn the screw, and pull out the processor, insert new one,

screw all back on, and pray it works....

if not, you've to get new bios from the mobo manufacturer....

so, yeah it's possible, but it's a task, and you wont get massive difference unless you opt for a top end proc|||all you can upgrade is ram, hard drive and dvd drive
