How do I get Dell Latitude D610 dvd player to work?

My daughter has a hand me down Dell Latitude d610 laptop. The previous owner "wiped it" and although it has a dvd rw drive we can't get it to play dvd movies, is there a free fix for this?|||If the drive is working correctly with other disks but just not movies then it sounds like the system is missing the "DVD Decoder" software. You will need to install this software on your system to watch movies. There are several options for the software such as Roxio Cineplayer, PowerDVD by Cyberlink, and several more. A lot of these companies that make this software will allow you to try a free download from their site before purchasing it. This way you will not be out any money until you know it fixes the problem.

I hope this helps and good luck.|||All drivers and the manual for the D610 are here:
