My dell inspiron 1525 will start up dell media direct but when i go to hit the power button and start up into windows, it doesnt work. My laptop was stepped on and the screen was broken recently, and when we switched the LCD screen to a new one, dell media direct works but not start up.. but when we hook the old LCD screen back up, both work. what is the problem?|||Sounds like it is the wrong LCD panel that you got to replace the broken one. Especially when you hook the broken one back up and it boots fine, but it doesn't boot normally with the new screen.
You *could* try hooking the laptop up to an external monitor with the new LCD panel connected, to see if the new LCD monitor has to be detected in order for Windows to display through it...
But I still say it is the wrong LCD panel.
