How can I uninstall a graphic card from a Dell Desktop and install it onto a Dell Laptop?

The graphic card is Intel Extreme Graphics, and the laptop is a Dell Inspiron, with onboard graphics, but no graphic card originally installed.

How can I go about doing this?|||Hi there

In this particular case i can tell you that You cant remove it from your desktop to your laptop

Why?

1)The desktop graphics card is also an onboard one (Intel extreme graphics)

2)Even if you bought a separate graphics card your laptop does not have a graphics card slot for one

(The ones that do cost about 拢1000+ / $1600+ )

3)Generally laptops that do have graphics cards that are not onboard still require the Laptop version like 9600M compared to the normal version for desktops which is 9600GT (without the M )

So im afraid that you are stuck with what you have on the laptop

Next time you get one make sure you look for a good graphics card on it above all other specs, as RAM , hdd space can be changed easily but you'll almost always be stuck with the graphics card it came with.

All the best

:D|||You can't. Because of the limited space within a laptop, the video card is a single chip only an inch or so square that is soldered directly to the system board. It can not be removed or replaced. While the video card for a desktop is usually five inches high, and 6 to10 inches long, and has to be plugged into a connector that is not presence in a laptop. And also has to have an opening in the case for the end of the card to be accessible for the monitor cable to attach to it. No such opening is available on a laptop.

So a desktop video card will not fit in a laptop.|||Even if you were taking a graphics card out of a laptop you more then likely wouldn't be able to put it on a laptop that has an on-board graphics card. You can't put desktop parts in a laptop though because they are different sizes and shapes and connect differently. You probably wouldn't even be able to buy a graphics card for that laptop though.|||Your desktop video card will not work with a laptop. (size and connectors are different for PC and laptop, so it physically won't fit) sorry
